Who is Sandy Caldwell, and why you should know her??

Sandy Caldwell was my doula for the birth of my son.  Her prenatal, birth and postpartum help has been invaluable to me, so I wanted to share her services with everyone.  So what exactly is a doula??

The word "doula" comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.

***Studies have shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier and they breastfeed more easily***

Sandy owns her own business called Doula la Birth and Postpartum Services.  She continues to add support and information to me as needed.  If you are interested in a doula please check out www.Doula-la.com or contact her at Sandy@doula-la.com.  Sandy serves the Bay Area here in California.  If you are looking for a doula and you are not in the area, Sandy might be able to give you a reference for someone in your area.
